Urvi Patel
Associate
Urvi Patel is an Associate at The Harbour Group, where she implements public diplomacy programs that support the firm’s international governmental clients.
Prior to joining The Harbour Group, Ms. Patel worked at Teach For America as a member of both the Public Affairs and Teacher Preparation teams. On the public affairs team, Ms. Patel helped top executives within the organization engage in external opportunities to promote Teach For America’s mission. In addition, she worked with the government affairs team to manage relationships with U.S. Congress members to secure federal funding and cultivate support for the organization. As a member of the Teacher Preparation team, Ms. Patel worked with her to team to organize and execute eight, five-week long institutes across the nation, where incoming corps members receive their initial training before entering the classroom.
Previously, Ms. Patel held a paralegal position at Prince, Lobel, Glovsky, & Tye LLP in Boston, MA, where she managed litigation, corporate, and media/IP cases. During her time as a paralegal, she worked with a trial team of three attorneys to achieve legal victory for a San Juan- based client in the amount of $4.75million. Additionally, during her graduate studies, Ms. Patel spent time interning at the Department of Commerce in the office of the Assistant Commerce Secretary and Director General of the U.S. Foreign & Commercial Service (USF&CS) where she conducted an in-depth analysis of all communications related operations of the USF&CS and provided recommendations for improvement.
Ms. Patel holds a Master of Arts in Global Communication from the George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs, with concentrations in public diplomacy, armed conflict and conflict resolution. During her graduate studies, Ms. Patel spent time in Geneva, Switzerland researching contemporary issues in conflict and humanitarian crises and responses in conflict zones. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and a minor in Business Administration from Boston University.
