Howard is a communications strategist with more than 25 years of experience in directing public affairs activities for large, multi-faceted organizations closely watched by the media, Congress and regulators. With a highly focused expertise in the financial sector, Howard has helped government and private industry understand the strategic positioning, messaging and tactics necessary to succeed in the policy arena.
Most recently, Howard was Executive Vice President of Corporate Communications and Government Relations for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority or FINRA (formerly NASD). Previously, Howard was Vice President, Public Affairs at the New York Stock Exchange, and the Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs for the U.S. Department of Treasury during the tenure of Secretary Robert Rubin. Howard also worked at Powell-Tate Public Affairs and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC).
